Is SEO Right For Your Business?

If you’re a business owner interested in growing your business, SEO might be what you’re business is missing? Many business owners have heard about SEO but aren’t entirely sure how it can help them grow their business.

In this post I’ll be covering how SEO can help your business so you can determine if it is right for your business.

What is SEO?

In order to determine if SEO is right for you, first I’d like to go over what It actually is.

SEO, search engine optimization, is the process of ranking a website higher on the organic, or free, search results of google.

Search Results

When you search for a service on google, i.e. tax preparer San Diego, the typical results are:

  1. Paid Ads
  2. Google My Business Listings (Maps)
  3. Organic Results
  4. Paid Ads

Paid Ads

If the keyword you are searching for has any bidders the results will display paid ads. These ads are paid to google and they are paid per click. Also known as PPC, pay per click can be an effective method of attaining online leads but in some industries, it can be very expensive.

Typically, we advise our clients to begin with a PPC campaign while we work on the SEO since SEO can take several months to take effect.

Google My Business (Google Map Listings)

Google my business listings are created by business owners directly on google. These listings show up with a image of a map and are typically location based.

GMB listings can also be optimized. By optimizing these listing you can have your business show up on what we call the three pack.

It is always a good idea to optimize GMB listings. We offer GMB optimization with all of our SEO packages.

Organic Results

Organic Search Results are the unpaid results that show up when you do a search on google. These are the results that we, as Search Engine Optimizer’s, rank your website for.

Organic results can be competitive, but for good reason. A vast majority of google users skip the paid ads and go straight to the organic results. This might be because they believe the businesses on the organic results have earned their position, so they must be good at what they do.

How can SEO help your  business?

By increasing your websites position on google, your business will be more visible to potential clients when they need you.

If a potential client searches for “your service + city” and your website is on the first position of google the chances of you getting their business is fairly high.

92% of search engine traffic goes to the first page of google. While 33% of search engine traffic goes to the first position on google.

Once you have your ideal client on your website, it’s just a matter of getting them to call you or schedule an appointment. Don’t forget that your website is available 24/7.
